Retreat Within

When the three day retreat in Ahmedabad took place, initially I was regretting my absence. However, I deeply felt connected and as the day to retreat came closer I set myself up for my own retreat. First day decided I will offer my prayers to the universal space of maitri so I sat and did havan in the morning hours chanting the most revered 24 letter “Gayatri mantra”. The warmth of the havan and the chanting brought hope and energy to look forward to new good beginnings in life.

The second day I observed silence to channel the new found energy and ideas bubbling in me. This silence paved way to clarity and purity of thought and action. I was amazed at the quick work that happened in that zone of peace. Prayed for all noble friends who were going through a similar journey.

The third day there was a lot happening at home -- a childrens class, cleaning and setting up things. So till afternoon I was connected in spirit but far away from any thought or action. In the evening, while watering the plants and filling water for the winged ones, I felt the urge to say “thank you” to the universe for all its offerings. So I bowed at every corner of my home. Feeling deep gratitude in my heart my eyes overflowed with tears of joy and peace for the universe that is so abundant in its giving at all times.

This experience taught me that sometimes you may not be physically at some space but through universe you can be connected to all at any time. The choice of the station you want to tune into lies with you. These three days brought in a lot of insights, inspirations and hope for good happening all around.
