Did you ever imagine a girl with down syndrome giving away books and toys to charity? Or 2,000 flower sellers, maids donate 15,000 kgs of pulses and rice for charity? Watch for more:

More recently, a group of autowallas chartered a bus to take a group of elderly to Puri to do Jagarnath darshan. They even got the Police Commissioner of Puri to garland each one of them making them feel like a 'king for that day.'

All of this is part of Daan Utsav, India’s festival of giving which focuses on inspiring every citizen of our country to do an act of giving. Started in 2009 by a group of people from different walks of life, it is a 100% volunteer driven initiative which has now grown to 100 cities and towns, with 800+ events and about 4 million people who have participated.  Let's all spread the love!
