Invitation for a three-day

Outcome and Impact Oriented Planning and Monitoring for Development Projects - Training
with post training advisory support

Karl Kbel Institute for Development Education (kkid.org) India
October 04 06, 2017

The Concept and Rationale of this Workshop:
In the past years demands for evidence of the effectiveness of development interventions has increased. Outcome and impact oriented monitoring can provide the necessary information to show effects and changes created by project interventions. Also for project steering it provides in-depth information and supports the management to adjust the project strategies in order to truly achieve the intended outcomes and impacts.

The overall objective of this workshop is to strengthen the capacities of development organizations in order to systematically plan, monitor and track the changes made through their interventions and introduce outcome and impact orientation into their existing PME systems. Participants will be equipped with terms, procedures and tools in order to monitor and assess the outcomes and impacts of their interventions. The workshop will integrate aspects and techniques of gender justice and participatory methods. During a 3-months period after the workshop the participants get the chance to get practical advice and guidance regarding impact and outcome orientation in their organizations from the trainer.

Outputs of the Workshop:
Participants are familiar with current trends in the development sector and are oriented on general concepts of outcome and impact oriented PME.
Participants learn how to formulate outcome / impact-oriented, realistic and verifiable objectives and indicators achievable and design monitoring tools based on the same.
Participants build their capacity to systematically strengthen the data management system (Collection, storage, compilation, analysis of data) in line with the indicators.
