The Concept:

Counseling or Psychotherapy is yet to gain its popularity in India even through its users are more than ever increasing in the recent times. Be it in Families, among students, or even among youth and young workers, mental strain is affecting them more than physical exhaustion. The same story is also said of senior citizens, those who are about retire from job, those sitting at home alone, often unwanted, those placed in old age homes and those in hospitals and special care institutions. Malathy lyer the senior editor(Health) at the Times of India, Mumbai Opines that one out of ten persons in India are depressed.

Today the world requires more counselors than doctors today. All that they require is a listening ear and some one to sit by and talk to. There are times when they need an approval or a direction which our knowledge and experience may not be able to provide. It is here that this training will stand by you to assist people in their struggle to cope with situations they are not able to manage.

The workshop Objectives:

This workshop is aimed at updating practitioners on:

1.The Latest trends in child, youth and family counseling.

2. Issues and solution in challenging situation: Broken family/divorcee,health issues ( eg. Renal Counseling).

3. New Skills and techniques to be adapted to suit various situations.

Methodology:

The 3-day workshop will use more of practical demonstrations, role plays,case study analysis, as well as updates on the recent development in the field of counseling using visual and group media.
