"To journey without being changed is to be a nomad. To change without journeying is to be a chameleon. To journey and be transformed by the journey is to be a pilgrim." ~Mark Nepo

This week's Maitri Tunes is dedicated to the courageous pilgrims such as Satish Kumar and Peace Pilgrim who walked for inner transformation and by doing so helped create a shift in the universal consciousness. As we applaud these inspirations, let us also remember that there beats in each of us a "pilgrim heart" longing to walk the journey back home to our oneness with all that is.
"Each heart is a pilgrim,
Each one wants to know,
The reason why the winds die,
And where the stories go."
This haunting lines by Irish musician Enya have inspired many people around the world like our gift hearted friend Inge Verbeek who has contributed this week's soulful sketch after being touched by the song.
Pilgrim, by Enya
Pilgrim, how you journey
On the road you chose
To find out why the winds die
And where the stories go.
All days come from one day
That much you must know,
You cannot change what's over
But only where you go.
One way leads to diamonds,
One way leads to gold,
Another leads you only
To everything you're told.
In your heart you wonder
Which of these is true;
The road that leads to nowhere,
The road that leads to you.
Will you find the answer
In all you say and do?
Will you find the answer
In you?
Each heart is a pilgrim,
Each one wants to know
The reason why the winds die
And where the stories go.
Pilgrim, in your journey
You may travel far,
For pilgrim it's a long way
To find out who you are...
Pilgrim, it's a long way
To find out who you are...
Pilgrim, it's a long way
To find out who you are...
