"Work is love made visible"

Seva Cafe has been operating in the spirit of Gift economy for last six years. Recently it took a 3 month retreat to reflect on t’s learnings and how to strenthen the spirit of service. It reopened on 13th Oct for 4 days a weeks. Here’s reflection of Siddharth who is the current volunteer co-ordinator for Seva Cafe.

“Ever since I read it in a book, the phrase ‘Work is love made visible’ has been a romantic concept that often intrigued my mind. When we re-opened Seva Cafe last night, the intellectual concept became a reality in my heart. It felt like Seva Cafe had attracted back all its volunteers in a beautiful celebration of visible love.
As we think back to the days leading to the re-opening, it really doesn’t seem like we did too much work. People kept flowing in to contribute in all ways possible to make it happen. From the kitchen to the dining tables, we were blessed with support right since we started the process last Sunday.
Mukeshbhai’s thoughts during the opening prayer constantly sound in our heads – “Look at Seva Cafe as an opportunity to fill your heart with love. That is all, no more complication is necessary. Feeding people can be one of the best ways to reduce your Karma.” :)
