Youth Retreat: Me-to-We
"And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who couldn’t hear the music." - Neitzsche
A Sufi parable tells of Mulla Nasruddin searching for a lost key on the street. Seeing his struggle, a crowd gathers to help. After a futile search, someone asks, “Where did you lose it?” "At home," Mulla replies. Outraged, they ask why he’s searching outside. He answers, “It’s dark at home, but the street is full of light.”
As we navigate the complexities of life, we often mirror Mulla’s actions—searching in well-lit areas: academics, success, money, relationships, intoxicants, social media and more! Advertisements lure us into believing happiness lies in the next purchase, while our own ambitions feign that fulfilment is just one more goal away. But what if the key we seek is within us, waiting in the stillness and interconnection that we haven't deeply explored?
What?
In this retreat, through practice and listening to each other’s stories, we will help shine light on the role of stillness and service as keys to come alive in a much deeper way. Through intentions and reflections, we will shine light on the twin paths of stillness and service, to quieten the noise of the mind and awaken the song of wisdom and love within. Together, we’ll explore what it means to truly come alive and celebrate the emptiness and fullness of life. We call this “a better party.” While we don’t have any answers, we hope that holding a field for a rich, authentic collective inquiry can help broaden our awareness and expand our hearts.
We will also have a lot of fun, singing, dancing, listening to each other’s life journeys, doing acts of kindness together, meeting some uncommon love warriors, and lots more!
Who?
Inspired by the ripples from the past retreats, we’re hosting another Youth Retreat, on the theme of Me-to-We. We expect to have a diverse group of spirited youngsters between the ages of 18 to 25, from diverse economic and social backgrounds across India. Together, we hope to awaken the bonds of our sacred kinship while embracing our differences and unique gifts.
If you feel drawn to the idea of inner-transformation and service, we welcome you to 'Apply For Retreat' button below and complete the application (in English or Hindi), and we'll get back to you.
