Holi In Kolkata

Since police don't get any holidays on festivals and they have to be serving us on festivals and miss out of being with families, owing gratitude to them, I decided to start my Holi with them. So took some colour and went to the nearby police station. They said they being on duty, and them being in official dress, they can't play Holi(uniforms might get spoilt), but would allow me to put a dot(Tilak) on their forehead. I sensed joy on their faces which had a regenerative effect on me.

I decided to go on a long way back home, putting colour on all people who I met, irrespective of any factor like gender, occupation etc. In the process I even requested people passing by on cycles to stop and get colour put on their faces, put colour on sweepers at garbage dump, taxi drivers, cycle rickshaw drivers, morning walkers having their tea, people going for their job, some watchmen. And at last, while climbing stairs of my building put colours on neighbours too. :) It was happiness and I felt serene.
