An Eve At The Signal!

‘Kitne Paise Bhaiya?’ was the line a car owner asked when I was handing him the cd containing the environmental tip on it. I was startled by his question and thought what should I charge him? The next moment I said him – ‘Uncle, Paise nai, Anmol hai. Padhiye kya likha hai, aur usse follow kariye. My motive will then be satisfied’. He was happy knowing that we are doing it for the environment and not for minting money.

So the Love Your City Campaign finally saw a start up yesterday in Ahmedabad. We had an amazing time running around the IIM signal whole evening and distributing the cds/dvds/cassetts we had. We collected the waste cds and dvds and printed the tips and messages on them. This saved a lot of paper and helped us in doing the good deed through an Eco – Friendly way.

We did get some amusing and amazing experiences during the hours we were at the signal. All of us were considered as road side vendors for once at least but to be very frank, we were enjoying the campaign to the inner core. Nothing could have been better than watching people turning off their engines upon reading the tip on the cd they got from our hands.

Yes, we made the difference. And the spirit of doing the same thing again tomorrow at some different place keeps us going. Truly, we love our city – Ahmedabad!
