Abundance Flows, Abundance Knows!

“There is enough for everyone’s needs, not for everyone’s greed!”- M K Gandhi.

I have been experiencing a divine flow of abundance in my life for the last few days. Whatever my needs are, they seem to effortlessly materialize into my life. Two weeks ago, a very dear friend of mine told me that he has taken a vow of not buying any new clothes for a year and that he is 3 months in the process already. He is doing this so that he may simplify his life and reduce his carbon footprint. He mentioned how much he is enjoying the process of simple living, of not having to constantly keep up with what’s new in the market. He shared that this has also helped him become more compassionate and sensitive to the needs of others, as the less focus he puts on himself, the more energy he has to help others. An unexpected gift from this process is that he started feeling immense gratitude for all the stuff that he already does have in his life.

“Wanting what you have creates gratitude. Not wanting what you have creates suffering!”

Inspired by his vow, I began toying with the idea of what would a year without new clothes,of not visiting malls, and spending so much time stressing over the wardrobe every morning look like. I was still thinking about this vow, when I realised that I required a warm jacket or a sweater for an upcoming trip. I had given away all my woolens to Goonj early this year as part of my “emptiness” drive!

I was wondering what to do. That same evening, I received the gift of a beautiful warm hooded jacket, just my size from 3 dear friends. It was completely unexpected, yet somehow it felt like someone up there is definitely keeping a watch on me. Lately, I have also been noticing that most of my needs are met effortlessly. Reminds me of a wonderful quote of Manoj Pavitran:

” If it is my need the Mother will provide. If it is not provided, it is not my need ”

In deep gratitude to the Universe for all its mysteries and gifts!
