Karuna Circles

Thank You everyone for the amazing call. It felt so heart warming to see all the familiar faces. As I was back in the retreat in Ahmedabad.

In the initial stages of the lockdown, I was immobalized. And I did not know it. The "fight-flee-freeze" response had taken over without bothering to inform me. It took me some time to see that. I wanted to reach out to people. I could not. However one conversation at a time, I reached out. More for my sake. And then surprisingly saw how these calls were becoming wellsprings for strange emotions. And how I started to feel the melting of my heart.

I realised how this lockdown must have triggered off so many trauma's in my body. New trauma and old traumas. I started having more of these conversations. I had a call with the core team of a special school for whom I do probono work. And one of the faculty members broke down and shared how much she loved people and missed all those interactions with her students. The call turned into just a circle of sharing of feelings.

I feel we could start "Karuna Circles"..where we could start with a short meditation, with a few deep reflective questions designed to help us get in touch with our feelings and unmet needs, and then a circle of sharing. We could have about 8 to 10 people in each circle so that each person gets the time to share. We can have a schedule put up on our site of all the Karuna Circles happening globally. And it would be great to have a host guide.

I am also in connect with Rupali to start the Art Circles very shortly.

In a separate post here, I am sharing a song by Carrie Newcomer. She was in a recent Awakin Call. She mentioned this song in the talk. And it seems so right for this moment. I hear it so often nowadays.

Lots of Love to you all.
