I am in process of reading 'Highway Dharma Letters' and I wanted to share a quote and my insight into the quote, "The Avatamsaka sutra says that 'All happiness in the world is suffering.' We are finding the converse is just as true: all the suffering of cultivation is happiness." (Page 18)
If you lead with inner transformation, the process of cultivation of our inner being is always regenerative -- irrespective of the struggle, challenges, problems, suffering or whatever word we might use. This is because the process of cultivation itself brings happiness.
J. Krishnamurti says the same thing in different words: "Freedom is in the beginning and not in the end."
That is, leading with inner transformation is in itself the means and the end!! What appears, on the surface, to be a sacrifice is actually a cause for celebration.
As I hold this perpetual inquiry, I'm left with this question: what is missing, if I am not enjoying the process of transformation?
