It's Holi. And we met this incredible teacher, Ramesh-bhai, who was recognized by the President in 2003 for his immense contributions to the field of education. Like many of our local inspiration, Ramesh-bhai also carries a comb, scissors, shampoo, hair oil, nail cutter, napkins and more in his bag. If he sees a child in need, he immediately starts to "clean" them -- physically, and surely spiritually too. He was the kind of teacher who would let him children sleep in class, and when they wake up, he will do the dance of joy with them. :)
Since it was Holi, Rameshbhai shared a great song by Makarand Dave: "Gamta no kariye gulal!" Rahul kindly looked up the lyrics and a slightly-noisy online recording.
It translates like this: no point in keeping our treasured jewels in our pockets. Let's share it in all its glory, by giving it away with reckless abandon.
Happy Holi! Happy giving!
