Reflecting On The Nature Of Work

It was so amazing to come together on the call few days ago. One thought which has been with me last few days is that the lockdown has led us all closer to realizing is Work is not something unpleasant for which we deserve 'compensation'. Rather having the opportunity to work, to create something which is beneficial to others is a reward in and of itself. And that, that we need material/money to sustain us is a fully true but not necessarily a related matter. (In a recent Awakin call also with Parker Palmer and others, I heard something similar like on the lines of Work is "where gladness of your soul meets needs of this world")

Why we are collectively closer to realizing this is because in front of us, are so many cases of employees receiving full salaries without having to work, and yet instead of feeling elated as living in a utopia, we are feel frustrated or are suffering in some way due to not having a meaningful engagement.

So I think if we can provide simple designs for-

: to people to do small volunteering gigs online to create meaningful commons (public goods)- Like an online Daily/Weeklygood in Hindi, like a karunavirus.org in Hindi/Gujarati, etc.

: or even device simple fun games which help in constructively using this time to go within and introspect. Like I just took the 5 questions all awakin calls speakers are asked, and sort of translated it to Hindi and sending to some family and friends here and there. :) (pasted in comment)

Related to this, its an obvious point which I am sure has been acknowledge before in MBL, that our content is all in English which becomes a boundary for mass of our country which prefers regional languages. I feel very happy to see those boundaries being consistently dissolved by Awakin translation team that I 300+ wisdom readings are available in multiple Indian languages- Hindi, Gujarati, etc. So also want to convey my heartfelt gratitude for that. (Also, just discovered that part of my wish is already being fulfilled, as there is a volunteer opening for translating MBL blog into hindi.)

Best part is we don't need to make a project out of it, but rather ask ourselves on how we can be creative to design our own micro tools to support Inner-transformation in atleast in our first-degree networks. Would love to hear any ideas or thoughts...

सही जवाब नहीं, सही सवाल हम अपने आपको क्या सवाल पूछते है, उसका गहरा प्रभाव हमारे नज़रिये पर पड़ता है. अगर हम सकारात्मक सवाल पूछते है, तो हमारी दृष्टि, हमारी सोच [...]

There is a bunch of people translating Awakin readings into Hindi and other languages. They will be glad to translate other articles or questions too and maybe Archana di could edit those.
